To celebrate Poh’s association with Harris Scarfe and the launch of the Cooking Club, she served up a lunch to remember on Thursday 4th October at the Prahran Market Event kitchen. With members of MasterChef royalty throughout the shows’ long running seasons plus celebrity chefs and food editors from Melbourne’s elite culinary crew, the long table was packed to the brim with fanatical foodies.
Poh created four courses showcasing her legendary fusion flavour combinations, celebrating a mix of her Chinese-Malay heritage and classic Aussie favourites. From shitake mushrooms and konyaku noodles, to tuna carpaccio with Szechuan pepper, and sweet and salty pork with peanut crumble accompanied by sago dumplings, the menu was a complete culinary journey. With food this delicious, there certainly wasn’t any leftovers, not to mention the dessert; Poh’s famous sweet tooth did not disappoint as she dished up a marshmallow pavlova with strawberries, balsamic caramel, mascarpone and basil. Talk about a delicious display of decadence.
We are thrilled to celebrate our continued association with Poh Ling Yeow and can’t wait to continue sharing her exclusive recipes and cooking tips and tricks with you all in our Cooking Club.
